:: Connotations of an Advert

 - CONNOTATIONS OF AN ADVERT!

Pink Dove soap-

1) The dove print advert communicates meaning to an audience through the use of symbolic media code. The use of the colour pink could connote femininity, romance and softness, which helps create a gentle mood. The woman is shown holding the pink dove product while wearing a large pink bow, which emphasizes the feminine theme. The phrase "tickled pink" suggests that she is very happy with the product. The advert's message is that Pink Dove is a luxurious and enjoyable product, encouraging the audience to buy it!

Sunnies x Monchhichi toy-

2) The sunnies x Monchhici advert communicates meaning to an audience through the use of symbolic media codes. The use of pink and cream colours could connote cuteness, warmth and childhood. The Monchhichi toy has large eyes and soft fur, which makes it comforting and could appeal to a younger audience. The words "limited edition" create a sense of exclusivity, encouraging the audience ti get the product before its gone. The advert also mentions a gift box, suggesting that the product is special enough to be given as a present. The message is to make the collection seem cute, collectible and nostalgic, encouraging the audience to buy it!!!

key concept analysis

Language:
Just underneath the main title, it says "its happening so fast" so maybe we can expect for a fast paced movie about growing up faster than the young girls should.
Industry:
The film was co-produced by "Working Title Films" and "Antidote Films" and directed by Catherine Hardwicke, Co-wrtitten by her and Nikki Reed.
Audience:
The movie looks like its being mainly targeted towards young girls, with the young girls together and the title being "thirteen", but the colours dont exactly match, being dark and dull. The movie is rated 18 and i think its targeted towards girls 18-25.
Representation:
The movie poster shows 2 young girls sticking their tongues out, both have tongue piercings even though them seem to be underage. This could make teenagers come across as rebellious and immature.
